Rich Cadden (Mr. C)

Richard has been training in Muay Thai since 1997 when he started with Pierre Mahon at Kao Loi Gym in York. After a short amateur career Richard realised he was more interested in competing and moved to the Bad Company Gym in Leeds. Under the tuition of Richard Smith, Richard progressed through the domestic level bouts to be a well-recognised fighter on the international circuit. Richard has competed at the World Championships in Bangkok where he won a bronze medal in 2002. In 2004 he lived in Thailand for 4 months where he fought out of Jitti Gym. In 2005 Richard returned in October and challenged for the 67kilo WPMF World Title and won a convincing points victory over Mohammed RhomPho in Nonthanburi, just outside Bangkok. Richard has defended this title in Thailand every six-months and is still the current holder. This is a very prestigious title and has been held by some of the biggest names in the sport, such as Sakmongkol and Nitta (Japan).

Richard has been the number one light welterweight in the country since 2002, and holding titles at 3 different weights. Having had over 40 fights, Richard continues to build his reputation domestically and internationally with his fight career. Richard is now keen to share the decade of experience he has had fighting at all levels

Jo Cadden

Jo is an exercise professional with over 15 year’s experience. A specialist in personal training, exercise programmes, diet and nutrition, Jo is focused on results based exercise packages. Under the tuition of Rich Cadden, Jo has found that Thai boxing provides the motivation needed to maintain a healthy interest in the sport which contributes massively to an overall healthy lifestyle. Jo offers a woman’s perception of Muay Thai both as a self defence mechanism and an exhilarating workout. Jo both supports Mr. C with teaching technique and composure as well as providing thorough warm-ups and high-intensity cardio training sessions. Jo is also the Health and Fitness Manager at Bannatynes Gym in York.

Colin "Joker" Jones

Colin has over 6 year’s experience in Thai Boxing and has trained at many Thai-Boxing gyms in the
West Midlands. This included a year at K-Star Gym in Birmingham under the tuition of Steve Logan training alongside the likes of Damien Trainor. After a moving to York in 2005 Colin is one of the longest serving members of Chokdee Gym and to supplement his training was introduced to Bad Company Gym in Leeds training along side some of the top fighters in the country. A year on, and having recently returned from a short period training at Jitti’s gym in Thailand, Colin is keen to both support less experienced members of Chokdee Gym and assist in the tuition of classes.

Colin was Chokdee's first every fighter in Feb 2007, winning in great style with a left hook KO. This is testiment to the hard work and dedication he gives to his training and his love for the sport. Colin is now a personal trainer at Roko Health Club in York, and is expanding the scope of Chokdee and muay thai to the general public. His instruction also feeds as a support network to the main Chokdee classes.

Dave "Dangerous" Philips

Dave started training at Chokdee Gym in 2004, just as Chokdee was being established. Dave's fast, aggressive style caught the eye of several of the top UK promoters, who have wanted him on their shows. Dave now has a record of 5 fights and 4 wins.

Due to his family commitments, Dave has retired from fighting. He has now joined Dave Agutters - York Thaiboxing Gym as the Assistant instructor, and is bringing in new  people to the sport from the far-side of town.

Rich is so pleased that his tuition has taken Dave so far in such a short space of time that he now has enough skills to run his own classes, and wishes him every success in the future.
